To fulfil our desire to protect our planet, we are trying to replace the common fabric and material by eco-friendly products.
Eco-friendly Raw Materials

Eco-friendly products are the future trends. Enterprises are required to shoulder more social responsibilities,

care for environmental protection and carry out green production. Ming Fai had successfully added eco additives

into products such as PSM, ECOPURE, BIO-PET etc., and also developed the green environmental series which enable themselves to degrade rapidly under soil to minimize the harm to the environment.

PSM

PSM’s main raw material is plant starch. Through the modification and plasticizing of corn starch and other renewable resources, it has become a new eco-friendly material with rigidity, toughness and elasticity all-in-one.

ECOPURE

EcoPure is a naturally derived bio additive which makes conventional plastics biodegradable. EcoPure works in both Aerobic and Anerobic conditions.

BIO-PET

Bio-based polyethylene terephthalate (bio-PET) is a bio-based PET material, which is made with bio-ethanol to replace traditional ethanol. Therefore, its biomass raw materials account for about 30%.

FSC

FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established

to promote the responsible management of the worlds’ forests. It provides standard

setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and

organizations interested in responsible forestry.

 

The Group strives to protect forests and environment while makes contribution to local communities for ensuring sustainable development. Besides, the Group follows FSC Principles, and takes on a commitment to stop trading and using below high risks lumber or wood fiber:

  • Illegally harvested wood;

  • Wood harvested in violation of traditional and human rights;

  • Wood from forests in which High Conservation Values are threatened by management activities;

  • Wood from forests being converted to plantations or non-forest use; and

  • Wood from forests in which genetically modified trees are planted.

GREEN SOY INK PRINTING

Soy ink is a kind of ink made from soybeans. Compared to traditional petroleum based ink, soy-based ink printing is considered more environmentally friendly and benefits for paper recycle, it also save inks and prints more accurate color on paper.

WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
NEW RO-CEDI WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF HOTEL TOILETRIES AND COSMETICS.

  • RO Water: pure water, reverse osmosis can remove 90% to 99% of the pollutants in potable water (water supply). 

  • Reverse osmosis water purification is an economical water purification method used by most bottled water manufacturers. 

  • Osmosis refers to that two liquids of different concentrations are separated by a semipermeable membrane, and water flows towards the high concentration side of the membrane until reaching equilibrium. 

  • In the water purification system, when a pressure greater than the osmotic pressure of the side of the high concentration solution is applied, water will flow towards the low concentration solution through the semi-permeable membrane from the high concentration solution. (This is reverse osmosis) 

  • The semi-permeable membrane can desalt by charge reaction, therefore this method can remove all multivalent ions and 95% of monovalent ions in water, for example, Na+RO system can remove very effectively certain types of impurities, such as some soluble solids, dregs, asbestos, lead and other toxic heavy metals, as well as many organisms in water. 

  • EDI water: ultra-purified water. CEDI system can remove all residual contaminants in RO water. 

  • CEDI system refers to electro-dialysis and ion exchange method 

  • Continuous electro-desalination refers to electrical current reaches the EDI unit through ion exchange resin, while no salt injection system or circulation pump is needed 

  • Ion exchange resin is used to remove small amount of silica, CO2 and other pollutants in water. 

  • Ion exchange resin may continuously be regenerated by the H+ and OH- produced from the current electrolysis of water

Charity

Since 2015, the Group has started the cooperation with Soap Cycling, a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong, and offers money donation, technical support, equipment donation, production premises and relevant support. Founded by students of the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Hong Kong, Soap Cycling aims at collecting slightly used hotel soaps and other sanitation amenities, and then distributing them to underprivileged families and schools in disadvantaged communities around the world, particularly Asia, via the network comprising various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and charity organizations upon re-sanitization and re-processing.

Sowers Action Challenging
12 Hours Charity Marathon
​

On Oct 23rd, 2016, Sowers Action Challenging 12 Hours Charity Marathon 2016 was held in Hong Kong to aim in raising tuition fee to help under-resourced students in Mainland China to fulfill their study dreams. Ming Fai has participated in this marathon since 2015 to support and help under resourced students complete their studies with various means.

 

Established in 1992, Sowers Action is a non-religious, non-political and non-profit-making registered charity in Hong Kong, committed to promote education aid in rural China by providing multidimensional support measures such as student sponsorship, school construction and facilities, teacher training, children & youth welfare and special education, bringing education to underprivileged or disabled students.

  • Making occasional contributions to charity foundations such as the International Red Cross and ORBIS;

  • Participating in the Hong Kong Movie Star Sports Association Charities Limited to aid the elderly living alone and to improve their quality of life;

  • Participating in the Shining Stars Foundation, which is committed to providing assistance to underprivileged children in Hong Kong;

  • Ming Fai Group, together with its subsidiary Ming Fai-7Magic Company, organized an eight-day “Red Décor Day” fund raising campaign, which aimed to promote the spirit of charity – Knowledge Enlightened Dreams, Hopes Nurtured by Ming Fai Group, with great efforts in raising the community’s attention to vulnerable groups;

  • Participating in IHG Golf Charity Tournament;

  • Cooperation with Hong Kong Po Leung Kuk to help providing job opportunities to people in need;

  • Participated at the Marriott Charity Black Tie Gala Dinner for the Yao Foundation;

  • Participated in the “Barefoot Builder” charity walk event held by the Habitat for Humanity at YMCA Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village in Shatin, Hong Kong.
